Buddy Guy, the legendary Chicago blues guitarist and showman known for his riveting, virtuoso playing and fervent vocals, is a five-time Grammy Award-winner who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. Guy’s March concert follows a sold-out February 2010 engagement with B.B. King at the Orpheum and an October 2010 show with 11-year-old prodigy Quinn Sullivan.

George “Buddy” Guy set out to pursue his music career in 1957, leaving his rural Louisiana roots for Chicago. He crafted his unique sound and charismatic stage presence under the influences of Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Howlin’ Wolf and Junior Wells. As a pioneer of the famous Chicago blues sound, Guy has made an enduring mark on blues and rock music, influencing such icons as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Guy's hits include “Damn Right,” “I've Got The Blues,” “Feels Like Rain” and “Slippin' In.”

His studio album, “Skin Deep” (2008), featured all original material and his 2010 release “Living Proof” included guests B.B. King on “Stay Around a Little Longer” and Carlos Santana on “Where the Blues Begins.” In addition to his Grammys, he has received 23 W.C. Handy Blues Awards (the most any artist has received), the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. He is also ranked 30th in Rolling Stone’s list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.” When not on the road, he spends times at his Buddy Guy’s Legends Club in Chicago, one of the top blues spots in the country.
