UPDATE: Deadline reports that FRIENDS cast member, Matthew Perry, will not take part in NBC's tribute to legendary TV director James Burrows. The actor had notified NBC of his unavailability in advance of the network's announcement at TCA yesterday. Perry, who may tape something for the occasion, is currently in London rehearsing for his play, The End of Longing, which begins previews on Feb. 2.

USA Today reports that NBC plans to reunite the cast of its long-running comedy FRIENDS in an upcoming special honoring legendary director James Burrows. The broadcast will tape in LA this month and air Sunday, Feb. 21. Sean Hayes (Will and Grace, SMASH, PROMISES PROMISES) is producing.

At today's Television Critics Association, NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt shared that he hopes all six stars of the show will be involved in the project. "We'd like to get all six of them in room at the same time, but I'm not sure we can logistically pull it off," he commented.

The prolific director is known for such iconic shows as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Cheers, Will & Grace, Mike and Molly,Taxi, Frasier, NewsRadio and Friends. The casts of some of these shows will also make appearances in the two-hour special. Burrows recently helmed his 1,000th episode of TV.

Would you be excited to see Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox together again?
