On Monday, June 25th, The Trevor Project honored Academy Award® winner, Susan Sarandon with the Trevor Hero Award, presented by Stanley Tucci. President of MTV, Stephen Friedman also was hand to accept the Trevor 2020 Award for MTV at "Trevor Live" in New York. This high-profile annual event benefits the life-saving, life-affirming work of The Trevor Project, providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) teens and young adults. The show was directed by Tony Award® winner, Michael Mayer. On hand to celebrate were Stanley Tucci, Debra Messing and Eric McCormack, Anthony Rapp, Thomas Roberts, and many more.

The Trevor Hero Award honors Susan Sarandon for being an openly vocal ally for youth and increasing visibility and understanding of LGBTQ community. As an ally for LGBTQ people, Sarandon has supported the freedom to marry as well as funding for HIV/AIDS research and healthcare for patients, and has spoken out about homophobia in the media.

Trevor Live presented by Audi of America, Pfizer and Wells Fargo is a signature annual event of The Trevor Project, bringing together top entertainers and corporate leaders to support the organization's life-saving, life-affirming initiatives for LGBTQ youth in crisis. This high-profile event has honored actors, musicians and comedians including Daniel Radcliffe, Lady Gaga, Kathy Griffin, Neil Patrick Harris and Vanessa Williams and corporate trailblazers such as Ernst & Young, Levi Strauss & Co., Wells Fargo Bank and CNN for their support of LGBTQ youth.
