The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present "Nurse Jackie" star Stephen Wallem in a brand new concert on Monday, August 25 at 7pm.

The concert, directed by Tony-nominee John Tartaglia and musical directed by Beckie Menzie, was a musical and anecdotal retrospective of a very high voice trapped in a very large body. Featuring songs from Wallem's big and/or "simple" guy roles including Shrek in Shrek the Musical, Hazel in Pipe Dreams, and Horton the Elephant in Seussical, as well as songs from Hairspray, Elf, Anna Nicole the Opera, The Land Before Time and The Addams Family, celebrated the big-boned beauty of Broadway and Hollywood. The grand finale was a Norwegian-inspired, Kelly Barclay-choreographed extravaganza that included Kelly Sheehan and Beth Crandall.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series takes place every Monday night at 7pm prior to Jim Caruso's Cast Party. Birdland is located at 315 West 44 Street in the heart of the theater district.
