Dessa Rose is based on the book by Sherley Anne Williams with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once On This Island, Seussical and Rocky The Musical). As multiple award winners, and with nominations for Grammys, Academy Awards, and a Golden Globe, this musical collaboration is spectacular.
Cynthia Erivo (I Can't Sing!, The Color Purple) will return to the West End to play Dessa Rose, alongside Cassidy Janson(Avenue Q, Wicked, Candide) as Ruth.
