BroadwayWorld was able to celebrate the 4th of July with the cast of the upcoming revival of ON THE TOWN, opening this October at Broadway's Lyric Theatre. Broadway's longest-running show THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA made history this past Monday as the production celebrated its 11,000th performance! No other Broadway show to date has achieved this honor. This Andrew Lloyd Webber classic opened in the West End in 1986, subsequently opening in New York two years later. The production has been performing eight shows a week ever since. This week, rehearsal shots of FINDING NEVERLAND, a new musical based on the film of the same name, were released. The show begins previews at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge on July 23rd under the direction of Tony winner Diane Paulus. The A.R.T. has contributed significantly to the past several Broadway theatre seasons, transferring shows such as "Pippin," "Porgy and Bess," and "All the Way." The hit off-Broadway spectacle FUERZA BRUTA is back at the Daryl Roth Theatre, this time with an extra twenty minutes of thrilling action and incredible performances, complete with live music for the first time in the production's history! This third installment of the De La Guardia trilogy is called WAYRA, and it opened this past Tuesday in New York! Check out more photos from opening night here!

The unveiling of Tony Award winner Alam Cumming's caricature took place earlier this week at the famed Sardis restaurant. As a revered Broadway performer, this honor seems long overdue for Cumming, who is currently playing the role of the Emcee in CABARET, the same role he played over a decade ago opposite the late Natasha Richardson.
