Photo Flash: In Rehearsal with BOEING BOEING at Flat Rock Playhouse

Flat Rock Playhouse presents the Tony Award-Winning classic farce, Boeing Boeing, from July 3 - July 27 at The Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown. Part of its "Season of Laughter and Love" presented by The Cliffs, the Playhouse is pleased to offer this hilarious misadventure, written by Mark Camoletti, starring Flat Rock Playhouse veterans Scott Treadway, Paige Posey, and Lisa K. Bryant along with Beth Kuhn, Catherine LeFrere, and the Founder and Artistic Director of the NC Stage Company in Asheville, Charlie Flynn-McIver. Boeing Boeing takes place in 1960s Paris, France where handsome architect Bernard, played by Charlie Flynn-McIver, couldn't be happier. After all, with three beautiful fiancées, Gloria the America (Lisa K. Bryant), Gretchen the German (Beth Kuhn), Gabriella the Italian (Catherine LeFrere), all of whom are international air hostesses, what could go wrong? Everything works swimmingly until Boeing introduces a new, faster jet and all fiancées end up in town simultaneously. Bernard, his nervous friend Robert, played by Scott Treadway, and his long-suffering housekeeper Berthe, played by Paige Posey, must work feverishly to prevent catastrophe and to ensure that Bernard is not caught. It all boils down to the timetables and a maid who never forgets to change the pictures.

Boeing Boeing has charmed audiences at London's Apollo Theater, Times Square's Longacre Theatre (and soon, The Playhouse Downtown) ever since 1962. This production of Boeing Boeing builds in choreographed pace and intensity as things go more awry with slamming doors, double-entendres, and misunderstandings that of course result in beautifully timed comedic chaos.

The show is directed by Flat Rock Playhouse Guest Director, Amy Jones who is proud to be back at the Playhouse for her 16th consecutive season. Amy has provided choreography for Broadway Backwards 9 at the Hirschfeld Theatre (Broadway), and has served as Director or Musical Director for many productions regionally and Off-Broadway. Additionally, she directed and co-wrote Back to the Garden: The Songs of Carole King, Joni Mitchell, & Laura Nyro, at 54 Below, Broadway's Nightclub in NYC and the Hangar Theatre. Amy is a member of AEA and SDC.

Cast members are Lisa K. Bryant, Charles Flynn-McIver, Beth Kuhn, Catherine Le-Frere, Paige Posey, and Scott Treadway.

Asheville Regional Airport presents Boeing Boeing at the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown, July 3 - July 27. Performances will be Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm; matinees Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
