Last Sunday, the 59th Annual Drama Desk Awards were held at The Town Hall. Hosted by Tony-Award winner Laura Benanti, the Drama Desk Awards honored Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway work from the 2013-2014 season. There were two ties in this year's awards: Lauren Worsham and Anika Larsen for Oustanding Featured Actress in a Musical, and Neil Patrick Harris and Jefferson Mays for Outstanding Actor in a Musical. This week, a large number of this year's Tony nominees congregated at the Empire State Building to celebrate the award season and the upcoming award ceremony. Nominees from both musical and play categories attended the event. The Tony Awards will be held this Sunday, June 8th at Radio City Music Hall, honoring the work on Broadway during the 2013-2014 season. Click here to see more photos from the gathering!

Several of this season's Tony-nominated men, namely Neil Patrick Harris, Andy Karl, James Monroe Iglehart, Jefferson Mays, Chris O'Dowd, and Tony Shalhoub, took time out of their schedules sit down and interview with Scott Feinberg of The Hollywood Reporter, as well as partake in a photo shoot. This week, the company of Broadway's "Cinderella" gathered at the famed New York Restaurant Sardis for the unveiling of Fran Drescher's caricature. Drescher, known for her work onstage and onscreen, is starring in "Cinderella" until the end of June alongside Carly Rae Jepsen, best known for her hit-single "Call Me Maybe." This week, the 32nd Annual Astaire Awards were held at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The Astaire Awards honor excellence in dance and choreography on Broadway and in film. "After Midnight," a 2014 Tony-nominated musical revue celebrating the music of Duke Ellington, won several major awards. Click here to see more coverage from this unique awards show!

This past Wednesday, the friends and family of five-time Tony-nominated actress Kelli O'Hara gathered at New York eatery Becco to honor her recent work in "The Bridges of Madison County," which recently ended its Broadway run. O'Hara is nominated for a Tony Award this season for her portrayal of Francesca in this new Jason Robert Brown musical. Click here for more photos from the event!

First established in 1945, the Theatre World Awards recognize outstanding performers both on and off-Broadway in debut roles. Several familiar actors and actresses were recognized with awards this year, including Bryan Cranston, Sophie Okonedo, and Zach Braff. Additionally, Celia Keenan-Bolger received the Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in Theatre for her portrayal of Laura in "The Glass Menagerie," and Christopher Plummer was recognized with the John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement. Between performances this Wednesday, the company of this season's "After Midnight," a musical revue showcasing the music of Duke Ellington, celebrated the renaming of West 47th Street as "Duke Ellington Way." The new street sign is located at the corner of 47th and Broadway. Arthur Baron, one of the remaining members of Ellington's orchestra, joined the cast in performance. This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Vasser College and New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Season. The season, running from June 20th to July 27th, includes "How I Met Your Mother" star Josh Radnor, along with co-star Leslie Bibb ("Reasons to Be Happy") in Richard Greenberg's "The Babylon Line."
