3 Voices Theatre presents the world premiere of Mein Uncle, an absurdist fairytale about the seeds of inhumanity, written and directed by Aliza Shane (NY IT Award for Outstanding Short Script, The Three Sillies). MEIN UNCLE, will play Thursday, May 29 continue through Sunday, June, 8, 2014 at The Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10003). Below, BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in rehearsal!

"My entire life I've lived with the history of the Holocaust and its devastating effects on the world, the Jews, and my own family. The idea of exploring Adolf Hitler and his relationships is not something I ever addressed. However, after learning about Geli Raubal, I became fascinated with her story; how her life, and death, affected this man, and changed his life, ultimately for the worse," shares creator Aliza Shane. "The more I read, the more I realized that this is a story that needed to be told. This is not a story that 'explains' or excuses Hitler or his actions - rather, it's a microscopic look at a relationship that may have been the last straw in a life already set on a path of destruction."

Based on the true story of Geli Raubal, niece to the most infamous villain in history, Mein Uncle, an absurdist fairytale about the seeds of inhumanity, is a love story, ruled by mystery, obsession and ultimately, madness. Mein Uncle is a tale of love gone terribly wrong, an absurdist look at the bizarre secret relationship that influenced the man behind the darkest event of the 20th century.

The production features Amanda Marikar (At War: American Playwrights Respond to Iraq) as Geli, Eric Percival (My Purple Wig, A Snowfall in Berlin) as Uncle Alf, Jordan Tierney as Emil, Judy Molner as Angela, and Emilie Bienne, Ashley Lovell, Rachel Pfennigwerth and Jennifer Lynn Tune as Eva and Erna.

Produced by Jenn Tufaro for 3 Voices Theatre. Lighting design by Ryan Metzler, assistant direction/stage management by Allanda Lattin.
