Photo Flash: Theatre Out Presents OC Premiere of BARE, Opens 1/10

Theatre Out---Orange County's Gay and Lesbian Theatre Company---is pleased to announce the Orange County premiere of BARE: THE MUSICAL, opening January 10 at their new theatre space in Santa Ana. The celebrated "pop opera" that debuted in 2000 in Los Angeles features music by Damon Intrabartolo, lyrics by Jon Hartmere Jr., and a book by Intrabartolo and Hartmere.

Set inside a contemporary Catholic boarding school, the rock-fueled, angst-filled musical examines a group of friends wrestling with identity, sexuality and spirituality while wading through the already turbulent waters of teen life. And within its core is the story of two gay high school students who fall deeply in love with each other---but must keep their relationship a secret from everyone they know. While navigating the tightrope between adolescence and adulthood, these young people discover the consequences of baring one's soul or hiding it from those who matter most.

The production is directed by Theatre Out co-founder David C. Carnevale with choreography by Marcus S. Daniel and musical direction by Sarah Weinzetl. The cast includes Morgan Reynolds, Jared Grant, Krystle Cruz, Kelsie Piini, Michael Noah Levine, Kevin L. Cordova, Natasha Reese, Debbi Parrott, Luis Ochoa, Hannah Clair, Tina Nguyen, Julian Ronquillo, Jenae Thompson, Kevin Norman, Jocelyn Sanchez, Laura DeLano, Michael Gallardo, Scott Leslie and Gabrielle Maldonado.

Tickets for BARE: THE MUSICAL are $20 general admission and can be purchased at www.theatreout.com or at the Box Office on the night of the performance. All performances are at Theatre Out's new venue at 402 W. 4th Street in Santa Ana and runs through February 15.
