Photo Flash: Jazz Pianist Matt Baker Brings AN OSCAR MOMENT to Birdland

The Broadway at Birdland concert series welcomed Australian jazz pianist Matt Baker in a sold-out concert, "An Oscar Moment: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Jazz Legend Oscar Peterson" on Monday, January 6. Scroll down for photos from the concert!

The concert showcased Baker''s interpretations of Peterson''s greatest work, celebrating his life, greatest hits, and some of his beautiful original works. The two met in 2002 at the Blue Note in NYC, which was the start of a friendship and mentorship that lasted until Peterson''s death in 2007. Jim Cammack performed on bass, Jerome Jennings on drums, and Special Guest Vocalist was Natalie Douglas.

Pop superstar and soon-to-be 'Cinderella' Carly Rae Jepsen, as well as jazz fans, family and friends were all seen cheering Matt and his musicians.

Australian jazz pianist Matt Baker has performed at jazz festivals, clubs and concert halls in Australia, Europe, USA and the Pacific. As of 2010, he is proud to call New York City his home.
