Photo Coverage: Military Wives Sing With Cast Of FROM HERE TO ETERNITY

On Saturday at the Shaftesbury Theatre the Military Wives Choir shared the stage with the full company of From Here to Eternity to mark today's anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, an event integral to the plot of the musical. Introduced by Tim Rice, the choir of 36 joined the company for a moving curtain call rendition of Boys of '41 - the song in the show dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack.

Nicky Scott from the Military Wives Choir said: 'The themes of this poignant song are close to our hearts and it's been an honour to perform it alongside such a talented company to commemorate this special anniversary. We'd like to thank everyone for giving us the opportunity to do this.'

Tim Rice said of the special performance: 'The anthem that Stuart Brayson and I wrote for the Pearl Harbor invasion scenes in From Here to Eternity, Boys of '41, is inspired by that dramatic event of over 70 years ago, but has found a contemporary resonance when sung so beautifully by the Military Wives Choir of today.'

The Military Wives Choirs Foundation is a network of choirs that reaches across the whole military community to bring women closer together through singing. The Foundation is a registered subsidiary charity of SSAFA Forces Help. It provides guidance, funding and support for individual choirs, as well as the opportunity to bring choirs together through national projects. Through its growing network of choirs, the Foundation is building something that brightens lives, changes perceptions and strengthens military communities.
