New York, December 6, 2013--When famous Mattel Inc. dolls Barbie and Ken rekindled their romance on Valentine's Day in 2011-- after their much publicized separation in 2004--throngs of people packed Times Square to witness the ex-couple's reunion, acted out by real-life Barbie and Ken dolls. So it is no surprise that a stage musical, featuring real-life Barbie and Ken dolls, and their friends, was in the offing.

BARBIE LIVE!, produced by EMS Entertainment and Mattel Live Entertainment, which had its world premiere in Singapore's majestic Marina Bay Sands just three months ago, will continue its Asian tour in Manila at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena from Wednesday, December 11 to Sunday, December 15 with 11 performances only.

EMS Entertainment, which specializes in interactive exhibitions such as "CSI: The Experience" and "Star Trek, The Exhibition," holds the international touring license for BARBIE LIVE!

"Together with Mattel, we have put an incredibly talented team together that created an unforgettable show for Barbie fans around the world," said Christoph Rahofer, president and CEO of EMS Entertainment, in a statement. "BARBIE LIVE! will give fans the opportunity to engage with the Barbie brand while spending time with their families and friends making memories that will last beyond the stage."

BARBIE LIVE!, which features 19 actors and dancers, is choreographed and directed by Kobi Rozenfeld and written by Obie Award-winning actress Diane Rodriguez, with music and musical direction by Robbie Roth ("Flashdance"), set design by Stanley A. Meyer (Disney's "Beauty and the Beast"), lighting design by Jesse Blevins and Peter Morse, costume design by Aviad Arik Herman ("Miss Universe") and sound design by Kai Harada.

Set in Hollywood, the musical tells the story of Barbie and her best friend/co-star Teresa. When Teresa starts to doubt her own talent, Barbie recalls lessons from her past to build Teresa's self-confidence and embrace the power of friendship.
