This week, BroadwayWorld got a sneak peek at the rehearsals of the new West End Musical, AMERICAN PSYCHO, before the show opened on December 3rd. The show will run through January 25th, 2014, and currently stars Doctor Who's Matt Smith, as well as Charlie Anson, Eugene McCoy, Hugh Skinner, Jonathan Bailey (pictured above). Wildly controversial on publication, American Psycho is now acknowledged as one of the great literary satires. In the narcissistic yuppie psychopath Patrick Bateman, writer Bret Easton Ellis created one of the most iconic antiheroes of the 20th century. For more pictures of the rehearsal, click here.

This week, MTC's cast of the world premiere upcoming show OUTSIDE MULLINGAR met the press. The story revolves around Anthony (O'Byrne) and Rosemary (Messing), two introverted misfits straddling 40. Anthony has spent his entire life on a cattle farm in rural Ireland, a state of affairs that "due to his painful shyness" suits him well. Rosemary lives right next door, determined to have him, watching the years slip away. With Anthony's father threatening to disinherit him and a land feud simmering between their families. Their journey is heartbreaking, funny as hell, and ultimately deeply moving. The play is by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley, and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes.
