Gingold Theatrical Group's SHAW NEW YORK 2013 festival concludes on Sunday October 13th. It has been highlighted by GTG's co-production of Shaw's You Never Can Tell with and at The Pearl Theatre Company. This production, which was filmed for the New York Library for the Performing Arts and Lincoln Center archives, is ending its limited run on Sunday October 13th.

SHAW NEW YORK 2013 included a series of events that expand upon Shaw's forward thinking, humanist ideals.

A reading of David Cote's play Otherland, which was commissioned by GTG, took place September 23. Otherland is a serious farce about roots, adoption and how to find authenticity in a generic world.

International composer, concert favorite and recording artists Timo Andres and David Kaplan performed a Shaw Concert on Wednesday, October 2, including works by Beethoven, Stravinsky, and one of Mr. Andres' new works. Yamaha Artists, Inc donated the grand piano.

Moderated by Jeffrey Eric Jenkins, a Critic's Symposium took place on Monday, October 7. The event explored the ever-changing world of arts journalism and included David Cote and HeLen Shaw of Time Out New York, Jeremy Gerard of Bloomberg, Chris Jones of theChicago Tribune, Linda Winer of Newsday and Jason Zinoman of The New York Times.

Gingold Theatrical Group presented its final festival event, the Shaw Symposium, on Friday October 11. Shaw scholars, actors, directors, playwrights converged to explore Shaw's provocative themes in his remarkable comedy, You Never Can Tell. Led by its director, GTG founding artistic director David Staller, they explored Shaw's views on sex, Women's rights, human rights, parent/child relationships and how Shaw re-invented playwriting. Panelists included actor Dominic Cuskern, InternationAl Shaw Society vice president Ellen Dolgin, Pearl artistic director Kate Farrington, critic/playwright Michael Feingold, Pearl artistic associate Jessi Blue Gormezano, Irish Repertory Theatre artistic director Charlotte Moore, actress Amelia Pedlow, Professor and author Martha Tuck Rozett, and actress Emma Wisniewski.

All Shaw New York 2013 festival events took place at The Pearl Theatre, 555 West 42nd Street in New York City. www.pearltheatre.org.

Gingold Theatrical Group presents the highly popular monthly script-in-hand series PROJECT SHAW, now in its eighth year. The next event will be Shaw's provocative 'Don Juan in Hell' at Symphony Space on Monday October 28th at 7pm.
