THIS WEEK IN PICTURES: September 7-September 13

The Cast of Bare: LA

BARE returned to LA in spectacular fashion. Armed with a star studded cast that included Payson Lewis ("Victorious") as Peter, Jonah Platt ("The Office") as Jason, and Lindsay Pearce ("Glee") as Ivy, as well as Stephanie Andersen and John Griffin from the first production of BARE back in 2000. With a rock infused score, this reproduction of the show rocked it's way into the Hayworth Theatre.

The cast of SNOW GEESE met the press this week, which includes Tony Award winner Victoria Clark, Tony and Emmy Award winner Mary-Louise Parker, and four-time Tony Nominee Danny Burstein. SNOW GEESE is about a mother (Parker) that must deal with the deployment of her son (Evan Jonigkeit), while her younger son (Brian Cross) realizes their recently deceased father left them in deep debt. Tickets to Snow Geese are now onsale.

Paper Mill Playhouse with open it's 75th season with the Broadway-bound musical Honeymoon in Vegas, based on the movie of the same title. The musical stars Tony Danza ("Who's The Boss?") as Tommy Korman, who is widowed and looking for another shot at love. Rob McClure ("Chaplin") leads the company as Jack Singer. Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster returned to the Cafe Carlyle this week for her series of concert performances. Sutton, known widely throughout the Broadway community for her wonderful personality, not just her roles, will play at the Carlyle from September 10th to September 28 from Tuesdays to Saturdays. Broadway Sings is a well known series of concerts in which Broadway favorites come and sing songs made famous by an artist. Previously recognized artists were Beyonce, Adele, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder. This time, many artists came together to remember Amy Winehouse. Stars that performed included Keala Settle (Hands on a Hardbody), Lena Hall (Kinky Boots), Alysha Umphress, and Jeanna de Waal (American Idiot).

The Toronto International Film Festival took place this week, and among the many movies that premiered was August: Osage County. The movie stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts (not shown in the picture above), as well as the actors in the photo above. The movie follows the Weston family whose lives have been splintered in many directions until their alcoholic father's disappearance brings them back to their childhood home and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them. The movie is looking at a Christmas Day release.

Cast of GHOST

Ghost: The Musical, originally a West End production, is going on tour in the United States this fall, and this week, we got the first picture of the cast! The story follows a couple, Molly and Sam, Sam who is dead, and Molly who Sam learns is in grave danger, and tries to communicate with her to warn her. Check out the cast in Schenectady, New York!

Curated by Bernard Stote, this exhibit will feature over 75 original works of Caricature Art of popular cultural icons from Broadway community, Hollywood, politics, and Wall Street. Many stars came out to witness the unveiling, including Renée Zellweger (Bridget Jones's Diary, Chicago), Michael Urie (Buyer & Cellar), and Jack Feldman (Newsies)
