As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Infinity Theatre Company (Anna Roberts Ostroff & Alan Ostroff) and Perry Street Theatricals (Martin Platt & David Elliott) announced earlier today that the first Broadway production of DAMES AT SEA will set sail on Broadway in 2014. With a book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, music by Jim Wise, and musical direction byRob Berman (The Pajama Game, Finian's Rainbow), DAMES AT SEA will be directed and choreographed by three time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner (42nd Street, Irving Berlin's White Christmas). Design team, casting, production dates and Broadway theatre will be announced at a later date.

Directed and choreographed by the three-time Tony Award-nominated choreographer Randy Skinner,DAMES AT SEA is a tap-happy, navy-crazy celebration of the golden era of movie musicals with a heart as big as the ocean! Ruby steps off a bus from Utah and into her first Broadway show, but hours before the opening night curtain is to rise, the cast learns their theater is being demolished. Ruby and the cast, with the help of some adoring sailors, set a plan in motion to perform the show on a naval battleship. Featuring rollicking tap dancing, love at first sight, joyful music and a boatload of laughs, this glittering musical extravaganza has everything you need to sweep your glooms away. Below, we bring you reviews, photos, and rehearsal footage from Skinner's 2012 Infinity Theatre Company production:

Mary Johnson, Baltimore Sun: Infinity's production of "Dames at Sea" is perfected by Broadway director-choreographer Randy Skinner, who honed his art working with Ginger Rogers, Cyd Charisse and famed "42nd Street" director Gower Champion. Skinner expertly choreographs six fabulous dancers to deliver the thundering power of tap to CTA's stage.

Susan Scher, MD Theatre Guide: Everybody did a really good job. If you like musicals at all, you really ought to get yourself down to see this. Be very clear this is not community theater; this is professional, it's Broadway talent and quality. But they also hold local auditions. It's important to support this kind of theater if we want to continue to see this kind of work and work that gives local talent a chance, too.

Amanda Gunther, DC Metro Theatre Arts: Director and Choreographer Randy Skinner creates a world of hopes and dreams come true in this fantastic production with all the fancy footwork you could ever hope for. Skinner's tap routines are outstanding and leave the audience agog and agape with wonder at just how fast these dancers can really move their feet. This show is all about the tap. And with the skilled choreography of Skinner combined with the six talented performers in the cast it is a recipe for sensational.

Karen Gaspers, Chesapeake Taste: One of the strongest aspects of the show is Mr. Skinner's phenomenal choreography. Despite the elements of parody in the production, this show is one that embraces tap dancing completely and makes it one of the biggest selling points. Every time the familiar click of tap shoes begins, audiences should expect the best, because that is exactly what they are about to see. Combined with jazz and ballet numbers, the choreography of "Dames" is simply wonderful.
