Photo Coverage: Philippine Stagers Foundation Opens BONIFACIO

Manila, Philippines, July 27, 2013--Philippine Stagers Foundation's "Bonifacio: Isang Sarswela," written and directed by Atty. Vince Tañada, depicts the heroism of Andres Bonifacio. The new musical tells the story of the founding of the Katipunan; the battles he fought; the internal conflicts between the Magdiwangs and Magdalos; the betrayal by his fellow Katipuneros; and eventually his death.

The show successfully carries out the story of Bonifacio as it should be told. It portrays Bonifacio not only as a strong-willed hero but as a man who feels pain.

"Bonifacio" also includes the stories of other important political figures during the Philippine Revolution, such as Emilio Aguinaldo, Emilio Jacinto, Gregoria de Jesus and Macario Sakay, and their pivotal roles in changing the course of Philippine history.
