The celebrated musical RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S Cinderella, originally written for television in 1957 by the legendary musical theatre duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, opened on March 3, at the Broadway Theatre. MCC Theater presented its annual Miscast gala on March 4, 2013 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street). Miscast 2013 honored Tony Award winner Judith Light (Other Desert Cities) for her illustrious screen and stage career (appearing on Broadway this year for her third straight season, this time in Richard Greenberg's upcoming The Assembled Parties), her work with MCC Theater (acclaimed performances in Colder Than Here and Wit), and her impassioned advocacy of several causes, including Arts in Education. Samantha Hill takes over the role of Christine Daaé in Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera, replacing Sierra Boggess. Hill joins Hugh Panaro in the title role with Kyle Barisich as Raoul, Jim Weitzer (Monsieur André), Tim Jerome (Monsieur Firmin), Michele McConnell(Carlotta), Ellen Harvey (Madame Giry), Christian Šebek (Piangi) and Kara Klein (Meg Giry). Roundabout Theatre Company's new production of Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winning play Talley's Folly, directed by Michael Wilson, features Danny Burstein as "Matt Friedman" and Sarah Paulson as "Sally Talley." Performances began February 9th, 2013 and it opened last night, March 5, 2013 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). Tickets are now on sale at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street) for Fiona Shaw in The Testament of Mary by Colm Tóibín, directed by Deborah Warner. The 12-week limited engagement begins previews Tuesday, March 26 at 8pm. Opening night is Monday, April 22 at 6:30pm. For more photos of Shaw in rehearsal, click here!

The five-time Tony Award-nominated musical Rock of Ages - which in its record-breaking fourth year on Broadway has celebrated its one-millionth customer, its 1500th performance and seven Box Office Records - takes their place on the Top 50 Longest Running Broadway Shows in History this week- with 1,544 performances surpassing the original production of Jekyll & Hyde. Lincoln Center Theater will present The Nance, a new play by Douglas Carter Beane to be directed by Jack O'Brien. The production will begin previews on Thursday, March 21 and open on Monday, April 15 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45 Street). It will also starJenni Barber, Andrèa Burns, Cady Huffman, Jonny Orsini and Lewis J. Stadlen. The cast met the press this week and you can check out more photos here.

In Rita Moreno: A Memoir (Celebra Hardcover; March 2, 2013, $26.95), Moreno shares her remarkable story for the first time. With candor, humor, and real insight, Moreno opens up about her tumultuous childhood, her career rise from "utility ethnic" to award-winning star, and her explosive romance with Marlon Brando (and less than explosive romance with Elvis Presley). Earlier this week, Moreno celebrated the release of the book at Barnes & Noble with a special conversation led by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Check out full photo coverage here.

Tony Award nominated director Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) directs actress Mickey Sumner (film Frances Ha, Showtime's "The Borgias") in the Atlantic Theater Company world premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony Award nominee Craig Lucas's new comedyThe Lying Lesson, joining previously announced star Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Carol Kane (Wicked, "Taxi").
