Stellar Productions held a staged reading of Bob Bartlett's "Whales" this weekend directed by Stewart F. Lane. The script has been a finalist in several play writing festivals including Baltimore Playwriting Festival, Catholic University, Kendeda Playwriting Festival, and Seven Devils Playwriting Conference. The cast included Ian Biesinger, Rob Pedini, Kathy Curtis, Bonnie Comley, David Mangiamele, and Alyssa Renzi.

While visiting his family's secluded cottage on the lower Outer Banks of North Carolina, Owen, a typically urban fourteen-year-old boy, and his fisherman father clash until an unlikely and healing communion with an injured whale awakens in Owen a forgotten boyhood and connection with the sea.

Bob Bartlett's play have been performed at DCAC, Flashpoint, the Capital Fringe Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Source Theatre, the Kennedy Center's Page-to-Stage Festival, the Baltimore Playwrights Festival, Theatre J, Catholic University of America, Active Cultures, First Draft and Bowie State University.
