The Delaware Theatre Company presents The Outgoing Tide (www.OutgoingTidePlay.com) a new American play by Bruce Graham (nominee of two Drama Desk Awards and The Rosenthal Prize for Coyote on a Fence at Urban Stages, Something Intangible, Any Given Monday) and directed by Bud Martin (Any Given Monday, Respect). The Outgoing Tide explores the ebb and flow of a family dynamic. In a summer cottage on Chesapeake Bay, Gunner has hatched a provocative plan to secure his family's future but meets with resistance from his wife and grown son. As Gunnar tries to maintain control of his destiny, secrets emerge which have been hiding below the surface for a lifetime.

The cast features Michael Learned (Emmy Award winner, “The Waltons,” “Nurse,” Gore Vidal’s The Best Man; The Sisters Rosensweig,), Peter Strauss (Emmy Award Winner, “The Jericho Mile,” “Rich Man, Poor Man,” “Masada”), and Ian Lithgow (“Third Rock From the Sun,” “Boy Gets Girl”).

The Outgoing Tide has set design by Dirk Durossette, costume design by Wade Laboissonnier, lighting design by James Leitner, and sound design by David O’Connor.

“While The Outgoing Tide is about forgiveness and making up with our family for the mistakes we've made in life, my first job as a writer is to entertain,” said playwright Bruce Graham." When audiences get caught up in a story, I have done my job."
