This fall, LOCAL Theater Company, in collaboration with co-producer The Dairy Center for the Arts, presents its inaugural full production of a play-- Michael Mitnick's "ELIJAH: An Adventure"--  the audience favorite from last March's LOCAL Lab reading series playing now through October 6th. ELIJAH: An Adventure" is a 16-character, multimedia, epic romp about a broke piano student from Brooklyn who becomes an accidental Don Juan in Paris of the 1920's.

Directed by LOCAL Theater Company Artistic Director Pesha Rudnick, the cast includes Barbra Andrews, Benjamin Bonenfant, Matthew Blood-Smyth, Lauren Dennis, Rachel Fowler*, Chris Kendall, Mare Trevathan, Leah Watson and Stephen Weitz*. (* = Member of Actor's Equity Association)

LOCAL Casting Director Sylvia Gregory says of the group, "This is a remarkable group of talent and each actor is perfectly suited to their role."

The design team includes Kathryn Kawecki (set), Shannon McKinney (lights), William Burns (sound), El Armstrong (projections), Amanda Paswaters (props) and Charlotte Ballard (costumes).

Says director Rudnick, "Mitnick's writing is rife with theatricality and magic.  It takes a first rate team to bring Elijah's adventure to life, and I can't imagine a more dynamic group of designers. No conventionalists here!"

Michael Mitnick is among the most successful new playwrights in the nation. Currently, his commissions include the book for Broadway-bound "Animal House: The Musical" (featuring music by Bare Naked Ladies); and the play "Ed, Downloaded," opening at the Denver Center Theatre Company in January, 2013.

Pesha Rudnick is a Boulder-based director of national renown. Currently, she is the Associate Director of the premiere of Eve Ensler's "Emotional Creature" opening off-Broadway this fall.
