On June 22, the cast of NEWSIES, led by Jeremy Jordan, performed and signed copies of their cast album, which was released in April, at UES Barnes & Noble (86th/Lex). On Monday, June 25th, The Trevor Project honored Academy Award® winner, Susan Sarandon with the Trevor Hero Award, presented by Stanley Tucci. President of MTV, Stephen Friedman also was hand to accept the Trevor 2020 Award for MTV at “Trevor Live” in New York. This high-profile annual event benefits the life-saving, life-affirming work of The Trevor Project, providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) teens and young adults. On June 25, the stars of the upcoming revival of Jekyll & Hyde, Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages) and Grammy Award Nominee Deborah Cox (Aida), hosted the 4th annual National High School Musical Theater Awards at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre. The show featured 60 of America’s most talented young musical theater performers vying for the “Jimmy Award” for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor. On June 25, Broadway Sings for Pride held its Second Annual Gay Pride Concert, featuring rousing songs from Broadway and pop hits, as well as feature stories of LGBT pride as told by celebrities, activists and the TADA! Youth Theater. The concert featured the talents of Mary Lahti, Theresa Fowler, Aaron J. Libby, and and TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble, Angelo Rios, and OUT 100 honoree and activist James Neiley. Judy Craymer, producer of the global smash-hit musical phenomenon MAMMA MIA! has announced that the new musical, VIVA FOREVER! will open at the PICCADILLY THEATRE in London’s West End in perfect time for Christmas. VIVA FOREVER! will preview from Tuesday 27 November and officially open on Tuesday 11 December 2012. All of the pop group's original stars were on hand earlier this week to celebrate the new musical's launch, and you can check out photos from the event here!

ONJune 26, Kevin Kline and Dianne Wiest performed "I Take Your Hand in Mine ... the Love Letters of Anton Chekhov to Olga Knipper", a play by Carol Rocamora, in a staged reading benefiting TheActing Company at The Kaye Playhouse. Bullet for Adolf, a new comedy by Woody Harrelson and Frankie Hyman, will receive its American premiere this summer. Directed by Harrelson—Academy Award nominee for The Messenger and The People vs. Larry Flynt—the show begins performances on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), with an official Opening Night set for Wednesday, August 8, 2012. The Muny is currently featuring CHICAGO as its second show of its 94th season, running June 25 through July 1, directed and choreographed by Denis Jones. Patti Murin and Natascia Diaz star as Roxy Hart and Velma Kelly, joined by Justin Guarini as Billy Flynn.
