Photo Coverage: 2012 Tony Awards Film Series Kicks Off with THE STANDBYS - Katie Finneran, Cady Huffman & More!

The Second Annual Tony Awards Film Series kicked off this weekend, featuring a collection of Broadway inspired films and exclusive interactive opportunities for audiences, including panel discussions with Tony Award winners, a Carol Channing look-a-like contest and sing-a-long. The Tony Awards Film Series is free to the public, with a suggested donation to The Paley Center for Media.
BroadwayWorld was on hand for the Series launch with "The Standbys" on Saturday, May 12, to capture the first panel featuring Tony-Award winning Broadway stars Cady Huffman and Katie Finneran, “The Standbys” director Stephanie Riggs and cast, Ben Crawford, Merwin Foard and Aléna Watters.
The series continued on Sunday, May 13 in the afternoon with “Carol Channing: Larger Than Life,” introduced by director Dori Berinstein. At the event, guests were encouraged to come dressed as the Broadway legend for a Carol Channing Look-A-Like contest, hosted by Tony nominated-actor John Tartaglia. Later that evening, fans were treated to a screening of “Oklahoma!” along with a sing-a-long. The version screened was 1999 RPTA film of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! starring Hugh Jackman, courtesy of Richard Price, RPTA, Ltd.
The 2012 Tony Awards, which are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre, on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
