ONCE, the acclaimed new musical opened on Broadway on Sunday, March 18, 2012 to rave reviews after a successful Off-Broadway run in 2011. The musical, based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film features a book by Enda Walsh, music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, direction by John Tiffany, movement by Steven Hoggett and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe. The set and costume design are by Bob Crowley, lighting design is by Tony winner Natasha Katz and sound design is by Clive Goodwin. For full photo coverage of opening night, click here.

On March 20, Priscilla Queen of the Desert celebrated the musical’s landmark one year anniversary at the Palace Theatre before the show with the stars cutting the “Priscilla Pink Pie Face Pie” from Australia's most celebrated bakery café “Pie Face.” Following the celebratory performance, Priscilla’s half millionth audience member was crowned on stage along with a secret “Oprah-style” prizing moment and a special surprise performance from the cheerleading squad “Cheer New York.” Click here for additional photos from the big event.

NOW.HERE.THIS., which last year received a Developmental Lab Production at The Vineyard - is currently in previews, prior to an official press opening of March 28 at the Vineyard Theatre. NOW.HERE.THIS. is the newest work from the creators and cast of the legendary musical [title of show], which had its Off-Broadway debut at The Vineyard in 2006 prior to its Broadway engagement in 2008. NOW.HERE.THIS. is written by Hunter Bell and Susan Blackwell, with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen, and is based on a collaboration by Hunter Bell, Michael Berresse, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff, Jeff Bowen and Larry Pressgrove. On March 21st, Roundabout Theatre Company celebrated the 400th performance of their hit revival of ANYTHING GOES, now starring Stephanie J. Block and Joel Grey (through April 29th). Directed & choreographed by 2011 Tony® Award winner Kathleen Marshall, Anything Goes is playing on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street). Music & lyrics by Cole Porter; original book by P.G. Wodehouse & Guy Bolton and Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse; New book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman. Imelda Staunton, Michael Ball and Lucy May Barker

The West-End production of SWEENEY TODD, starring Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton, opened on March 20, at the Adelphi Theatre, following its sell-out success at the Chichester Festival Theatre. Check out these shots of the rapturous curtain call, featuring Michael Ball, Imelda Staunton and Lucy May Barker. Widely acknowledged as Stephen Sondheim's musical masterpiece, Sweeney Todd stars distinguished musical performer Michael Ball as the eponymous demon barber of Fleet Street and Oscar-nominated actress Imelda Staunton as the devoted Mrs Lovett. Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of REGRETS, the new play by Matt Charman, directed by Carolyn Cantor will open Tuesday, March 27 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). REGRETS stars Alexis Bledel ("Gilmore Girls"), Curt Bouril ("Boardwalk Empire"), Ansel Elgort (Off-Broadway debut), Brian Hutchison(MTC's From Up Here), Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox (MTC's Doubt), Lucas Caleb Rooney(Orphan's Home Cycle), and Richard Topol (The Normal Heart). Rodgers and Hammerstein's Pipe Dream, the second Encores! production of the 2011-12 season, will run March 28 - April 1 at City Center, with Will Chase, Laura Osnes, Leslie Uggams, Stephen Wallem and Tom Wopat. Pipe Dream will be directed by Marc Bruni with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Kelli Barclay. It will play for seven performances at New York City Center, West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. For more photos of the cast, click here!

NEWSIES, the new American musical, began performances on March 15 at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre for a limited run. Kicking off their limited run (now extended through August 19), the Broadway company made their national television debut today when they performed "Seize The Day" and "Santa Fe" on ABC's "Good Morning America." The musical, featuring music by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Sister Act), lyrics by Jack Feldman and a book by four-time Tony® Award winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy), will open on Broadway March 29th. JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR opened on Broadway last night, Thursday, March 22. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, directed by Des McAnuff began previews March 1 and is now playing at the Neil Simon Theatre. The cast features Paul Nolan as Jesus Christ, Josh Young as Judas Iscariot, Chilina Kennedy as Mary Magdalene, Tom Hewitt as Pontius Pilate, Bruce Dow as King Herod, Marcus Nance as Caiaphas and Aaron Walpole as Annas.
