LA MAMA CANTATA, the newest composition by Elizabeth Swados, taped its original cast recording on Wednesday, December 28 at Avatar Studios.
On December 29 & 30, LA MAMA CANTATA will be performed at the Ellen StewArt Theatre (66 E. 4th St.), returning by popular demand following its triumphant world premiere in November.
LA MAMA CANTATA is a musical depiction of the life and times of Ellen Stewart, La Mama's
late founder and artistic director, with a text comprised of Ms. Stewart's own words and those of others who wrote about and knew the legendary woman affectionately called "Mama."
