Television icon Regis Philbin, Muppets creator Jim Henson, the extraordinary actresses who vocally brought to life many modern-day Disney Princesses including Jodi Benson Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Paige O'Hara Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Lea Salonga singing voices of Jasmine from Aladdin and Mulan from Mulan, Linda Larkin speaking voice of Jasmine from Aladdin, and Anika Noni Rose Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog were honored as official Disney Legends during the D23 EXPO. The stars aligned this past weekend when SNL star Ana Gasteyer made the West Coast debut of her new show "Elegant Songs from a Handsome Woman" for three nights only at the Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles. The evening promised to be classy, brassy and sassy or classy, brassy, quirky and tear-jerky, depending on world events and/or her hair frizz factor. Gasteyer will be gently assisted by Director Julian Fleisher and band leader Jon Spurney. For more photos from the concert, click here.

Cast members from Memphis performed at Harlem Day on Monday, August 21. The event featured live music performances, fashion shows, dance exhibitions, the opening of new tennis courts, a health fair, the Harlem Day Children's Festival, annual Upper Manhattan Auto Show and more. The Broadway at Birdland concert series this week featured the American concert debut of Dutch performer Willemijn Verkaik, best known to theater lovers for originating the role of Elphaba in the German production of Wicked. She was joined by three very special guest composers: Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin), Jason Robert Brown (Parade; Last Five Years) and Scott Alan (Dreaming Wide Awake; Home), who accompanied the singer on work from their songbooks. Carol Channing and The Channing-Kullijian Foundation offers patron's the desert's biggest Emmy® viewing Party, featuring The 63rd Primetime Emmy® Telecast, hosted by Lulu California Bistro. The Foundation will proudly present the first ARTS STAR AWARD to Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-CA), who successfully championed the H Con Res 275, a concurrent resolution designating a week in September as "Arts in Education Week."

New York's Public Theater has announced that the final performances of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical on Broadway will all offer special deals and programs for students, Aquarians, foreigners, HAIR fans and more, kicking off yesterday with a foursquare Swarm-In in Times Square, where fans were able to check into the special "HAIR Summer of Love Swarm-In" event on foursquare to unlock a special discount. Olympic gymnast, Cathy Rigby, once again takes flight in her Tony nominated and Emmy Award winning role as the boy who won't grow up, Peter Pan. Opening at Virginia's Wolf Trap in September 2011, the all new production of the musical Peter Pan will embark on a national tour of the USA followed by a possible return to Broadway in summer 2012. GLEE might not be back in full swing until September, but the cast of the show just attended Fox's 'Glee' Sing-A-Long event at Santa Monica High School. Glee makes its return to primetime on Tuesdays at 8PM ET/PT on September 20th on Fox. Click here for more photos from the festivities!

Performances began on Sunday, August 7th for James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's FOLLIES, directed by Eric Schaeffer, with choreography by Warren Carlyle and music direction by James Moore. FOLLIES will officially open on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Marquis Theatre. Click here for more production shots from the show!

With a 28-piece orchestra, FOLLIES features a cast of 41 and stars two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters as Sally Durant Plummer, four-time Tony Award nominee Jan Maxwell as Phyllis Rogers Stone, two-time Tony Award nominee Danny Burstein as Buddy Plummer, three-time Emmy Award nominee Ron Raines as Benjamin Stone and Olivier Award winner Elaine Paige as Carlotta Campion.
