Lea Michele

The highly -anticipated new movie, 'New Year's Eve' features a star-studded cast, including GLEE star Lea Michele, as well as stage veterans Robert De Niro, Sarah Jessica Parker, and many more. The movie follows the intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they live through the drama and romance of New Year's Eve in Manhattan. New Year's Eve will be directed by Garry Marshall.The cast also includes Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Seth Meyers, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Til Schweiger, Hilary Swank, and Sofia Vergara. BroadwayWorld.com has been following the progress of Broadway-bound musical, Allegiance, since its first reading in Los Angeles two years ago up to its final workshop presentation held at the Baryshnikov Arts Center this week. The two-day developmental workshop presentation of Allegiance featured Lea Salonga (Gloria Suzuki), George Takei (old Sam Omura), Telly Leung (Young Sam Omura), Jose Llana and more. After being so impressed by the video "Waiting For Shankman" created by the ROCK OF AGES 1st National Tour Cast, director of the ROCK OF AGES movie Adam Shankman, has put them in the movie! In addition to Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, the film stars Diego Boneta as "Drew," Julianne Hough as "Sherrie," Russell Brand as "Lonny," Alec Baldwin as "Dennis," Mary J. Blige as "Justice," Brian Cranston as the Mayor, Malin Ackerman as "Constance Sack," Paul Giamatti as "Paul Gill," and Catherine Zeta-Jones as the "Mayor's Wife."

Cape May Stage, South Jersey's premier professional Equity theatre, began performances of Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias yesterday. The production will run through Saturday, September 10 at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse. The all-women ensemble cast featuring Broadway and TV/Film veterans includes Karen Ziemba, Ellen Dolan, Nicole Lowrance, and more. For additional production shots, click here.

GLEE might not be back in full swing until Septeber, but the boys of the show are already giving fans something to laugh about. Mark Salling wrote on twitter: "The Glee bros and I wanted to keep up our chops over the hiatus so we formed a tribute band." Check out the photo of the stars as the Village People above!

Now in its eleventh year, "106.7 Lite fm Presents Broadway in Bryant Park" will conclude its 2011 series next Thursday. Bryant Park is located behind the New York Public Library on 6th Avenue between 40th and 42nd street. Lawn seating is first come-first-served. This week's concert held yesterday, August 4, featured Jersey Boys cast members Russell Fischer, Erik Bates, Ryan Jesse, Miles Aubrey, Brad Bass, Cara Cooper, John Edwards, Katie O'Toole, Jessica Rush, Sara Schmidt, Taylor Sternberg; The Lion King cast members Joel Karie and Selloane Nkhela; Wicked cast members Teal Wicks, Katie Rose Clarke and Richard Blake; Rent cast members Annaleigh Ashford, Corbin Reid and Marcus Paul James; and Death Takes A Holiday cast members Mara Davi, Kevin Earley, Alexandra Socha, Max Von Essen, and Jill Paice. The fresh, new, Off-Broadway production of RENT officially opens Thursday, August 11 at New World Stages.The highly anticipated resurrection of the cult classic, written by Jonathan Larson, is being directed by Michael Greif, who directed the show's original off-Broadway and Broadway productions. She Stoops to Conquer, which will run through August 7 at Williamstown Theatre Festival is directed by Nicholas Martin and is set to star: Brooks Ashmanskas, Mia Barron, Richard Easton, Holley Fain, Kristine Nielsen, Jon Patrick Walker, Jeremy Webb, and Paxton Whitehead. Two well-bred young men arrive at the country estate of Mr. Hardcastle, intending to woo his daughter Kate and her cousin Constance, but when local mischief-maker Tony Lumpkin plays a practical joke on the city slickers, the Hardcastle household is launched into a dizzying, deliciously preposterous romp of mistaken identity.
