The Drama League's monthly Coffee Club was held on Thursday at The Palace Theater, currently home to the blockbuster musical, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT. The event was hosted by Drama League Board Member, Bonnie Comley & Stewart F. Lane (co-owner of The Palace Theater) and moderated by Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director of The Drama League.

Shanks and Lane, aka Mr. Broadway, held a discussion on the history of The Palace Theater and a reading from Lane's new book "Jews on Broadway."

The Coffee Club is a free, monthly event open to The Drama League's Members. Since 1916, The Drama League is one of the nation's oldest continuously-operating, not-for-profit arts advocacy and education organizations. Its nationally-renowned, award-winning efforts have two fundamentally vital goals: to train the stage directors of tomorrow through The Directors Project and to strengthen the audience experience through the Audience Project.

The Drama League's tax-deductible memberships raise much-needed funds to support these training programs and they allow members access to up to 100 discounted performances each year to Broadway, and off-Broadway shows and FREE member-only events, including post-show talkbacks with cast members and directors, the monthly Drama League Coffee Club, backstage tours, open rehearsals, plays-in-process, and gatherings with fellow theatre lovers.
