Abingdon Theatre Company -- which has produced more than 60 new American plays in its 17-year history -- continues its 2010-2011 Season with the New York premiere of HOW I FELL IN LOVE by Joel Fields, a writer for TV's "Ugly Betty" and "Raising the Bar" and winner of Abingdon's 2009 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for excellence in playwriting, with previews set to begin January 21, prior to its official press opening on January 30 at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street) in Manhattan.

In Joel Fields' HOW I FELL IN LOVE, two lost souls (Tommy Schrider and Polly Lee) haplessly seek romance as they stumble into adulthood. When they accidentally find their way into each other's lives, they discover that their individual stories may be more intertwined than
they could ever have imagined; and they start to question the meaning of fate, friendship, and true love.

HOW I FELL IN LOVE stars Mark Doherty ("A Film with Me in It"), Polly Lee (GRACELAND) Tommy Schrider (GREEK HOLIDAY) and Roya Shanks (THE QUOTABLE ASSASSIN). The production features scenic design by Wilson Chin and David Arsenault; lighting design by Travis McHale; costume design by Kimberly Matela; and sound design by Ian Wehrle. Genevieve
Ortiz is Production Stage Manager.

Joel Fields recently served as a writer/producer on "Raising the Bar" for Steven Bochco and TNT. Prior to that he was a writer and Executive Producer on ABC's Golden Globe-winning series "Ugly Betty"
and on the FX series "Dirt," starring Courtney Cox. He also wrote and produced "Commander in Chief," which received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Dramatic Series of 2005/2006 and "Over There," Steven Bochco's critically acclaimed series about the Iraq war.

Director Jules Ochoa's credits include Jan Buttram's PHANTOM KILLER, presented last season by Abingdon Theatre Company, and Frawley Becker's TIGER BY THE TAIL. As an assistant director, he has worked on Broadway's HIGH SOCIETY, as well as revivals of MAN OF LA MANCHA and
ROCKY HORROR SHOW.

Following HOW I FELL IN LOVE, Abingdon Theatre Company's current season of American plays concludes with the New York premiere of Al Letson's SUMMER IN SANCTUARY, directed by Rob Urbinati (March 25-April 17, 2011). Abingdon Theatre Company's 2010-11 Season productions are Equity Approved Showcases.
