Photo Coverage: Tim Minchin Celebrates MATILDA'S 1000th Performance at the Piano!

MATILDA just celebrated its 1000th performance with who else, but creator Tim Minchin, for a special conversation at New World Stages. At the special event, Jessica Shaw of EW moderated a Q&A and Minchin performed a few Matilda tunes at the piano. BroadwayWorld was there for the special night and you can check out photos below!
MATILDA THE MUSICAL, produced by The Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, opened to rapturous reviews on April 11, 2013 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street). Celebrated on 10 "Top Ten" lists of 2013, the production received four Tony Awards and a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater for each of the four girls who shared the title role, as well as two Outer Critics Circle Awards, five Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.
Matilda The Musical will make its Australian Premiere at Sydney Lyric Theatre on August 20, 2015. The North American Tour commenced in May 2015, with stops in New Haven, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Dallas, among others.
