On Wednesday, April 3rd, Oz had a very special visitor, as Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber attended the all-Canadian production of his new musical for the first time. Lloyd Webber was in Toronto last fall for the CBC television show Over the Rainbow, which cast Danielle Wade in the lead role of Dorothy, however he had not yet seen the full production of the show.

The new production premiered in the UK, but was changed before its Canadian Premiere this past December. It tells the classic story of a girl who gets transplanted to the strange land of Oz and goes on an incredible journey, only to discover there is no place like home. It features new music by Lloyd Webber, and a stellar all Canadian cast.

BWW is thrilled to bring its readers photos from the very special curtain call.

When and Where?

The Wizard of Oz is currently on stage at The Ed Mirvish Theatre. Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office, by phone at 416-872-1212 or online at www.mirvish.com.
