Today we rewind to 2018 when The Prom opened on Broadway. The Prom, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, played for 309 performances at the Longacre Theatre.

Tina - The Tina Turner Musical officially begins previews tonight on Broadway. Tina herself is giving the show a shoutout in an all new video.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Sony Masterworks Broadway will release HALF TIME (ORIGINAL CAST RECORDING), with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Nell Benjamin and additional music by Marvin Hamlisch and Ester Dean tomorrow, August 2.  Produced by Scott M. Riesett (Ain't Too Proud, The Prom) and Matthew Sklar, the album features music from the Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin-written musical, which made its 2018 debut at Paper Mill Playhouse and tells the uplifting true story of ten New Jersey seniors with extraordinary dreams. 

It's time to dance because The Prom's Tony-nominated star Caitlin Kinnunen is performing a special acoustic version of the show's song 'Unruly Heart' alongside the show's three Emma understudies: Gabi Campo, Kalyn West, and Brittany Zeinstra. A Tony winner himself, THE LATE LATE SHOW James Corden opened the 73rd Annual Tony Awards with an expansive opening number that included over 170 Broadway stars. In the number, Corden celebrated the magic of live shows - with a brief interruption from Bryan Cranston - to open the 2019 Tony Awards. Corden was joined on stage by the casts of Ain't Too Proud, Tootsie, Oklahoma!, Beetlejuice, The Prom, Hadestown, and Kiss Me, Kate.
