The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for its 2020 season, which opens June 15 with Kander and Ebb's internationally-acclaimed Chicago. Among the talented list are a mix of Muny favorites and newcomers. In addition to casting, a comprehensive list of design teams for each production will be released later this spring. First Stage is thrilled to announce that ELF a?" The Musical, First Stage's holiday musical based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema film written by David Berenbaum, has surpassed ticket sales goals by over $87,000, making it the highest grossing production in First Stage history. The previous sales record was set with First Stage's premiere production of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS in 2015. 

ELF THE MUSICAL opens at Artisan Center Theater on Friday, November 22, 2019 and runs through Saturday, December 21, 2019. The 196-seat theater-in-the-round is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst.

High-school senior, Thea Belle Flanzer, and high-school sophomore, Avery Allen, are arranging a raffle to raise money for WC Kitchen's Hurricane Dorian relief project in the Bahamas. Veteran Punk Rocker, Eddie Star, roars back on to the music scene as the Creative Director for the new O-Broadway musical, 'Rockquiem for a Wrestler.' The musical, inspired by the life of legendary wrestler Ivan Kolo? (The Russian Bear), was written by Actor, Singer, Writer, and Director Philip Paul Kelly (Elf the Musical, Ragtime on Ellis Island, Titanic the Musical).

Tony-winning director-choreographer Casey Nicholaw is featured in this monthly episode of 'THEATER: All the Moving Parts', hosted by veteran journalist, Patrick Pacheco. Nicholaw has the remarkable distinction of having four shows running concurrently on Broadway: 'Book of Mormon,' 'Aladdin,' 'Mean Girls,' and "The Prom." Included among his many future projects is "Some Like It Hot."   

Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has announced the hit, holiday show Elf The Musical is now available for licensing in the U.S. and Canada for 2019 and 2020. Due to contractual obligations, after 2020, the show will go back into the MTI vault.

Wendi Peters, Kimberley Walsh and Matthew Kelly will star as Mrs Baskin, Susan Lawrence and George MacMillan respectively. They join the previously announced Jay McGuiness as Josh Baskin. Based on the smash-hit movie starring Tom Hanks, BIG The Musical makes its West End premiere at the Dominion Theatre for a strictly limited nine-week season from 6 September to 2 November 2019, with a Gala Night in aid of Make-A-Wish on Tuesday 17 September.

BroadwayWorld has learned that The Muny announced today 25 principal cast members for the first season of its second century. Complete company casting will be announced throughout April and May. The 101st season opens on a brand new, state-of-the-art stage with Muny favorite Guys and Dolls followed by the U.S. regional premiere of Kinky Boots. The season continues with 1776, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Footloose and a newly-reimagined Lerner and Loewe's Paint Your Wagon. Season 101 closes with the highly-anticipated Muny debut of Roald Dahl's Matilda.

The Music Hall and the Ogunquit Playhouse announce the cast and creative team of Elf The Musical, on stage November 28 - December 16 at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

In 2015, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre added a new holiday production to its Children's Theatre collection with the world premiere of its original musical comedy The Great Elf Adventure. Over the years, many adaptations of holiday stories have appeared on the WOB stage including Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree, Frosty the Snowman, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, and Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. The Great Elf Adventure is based on one of the most popular characters to appear at the theatre, Jingles the Elf.
