How lucky we are in the DC area. Rich with culture, the region has an especially vibrant theater scene. Arena Stage is a prominent part of that scene and this year they are treating us to something special - The Eugene O'Neill Festival. New Village Arts continues its holiday tradition with Joe Mantello's adaptation of David Sedaris' highly acclaimed The Santaland Diaries, directed by Ensemble Member Samuel Sherman and starring NVA Ensemble and Actors Equity Member Daren Scott. The Santaland Diaries follows one out of work actor who decides to become a Macy's elf to pay the holiday bills.

According to the NY Times, Yale University Press wil publish Eugene O'Neill's autobiographical, one-act play- EXORCISM. The play, which was written by O'Neill soon after a failed suicide attempt in 1912, was believed to have been destroyed, will be available in book form in February.
