The stars and creative team behind Broadway's FUN HOME stopped by CHARLIE ROSE: THE WEEK on Friday, January 8th.

Jake Gyllenhaal made a triumphant musical debut this summer co-starring opposite Ellen Greene in Encores! Off-Center concert production of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. In a recent interview with DP/30, Jake revealed how Jeanine Tesori convinced him to take on the project, what it was like sharing the stage with Greene, and so much more. After six long years, the wait is finally over! BroadwayWorld has just learned that the musical web series The Battery's Down, which wrapped up its final season in late 2009, will return for a reunion special later this fall. Andrew Lippa's tragic Jazz Age love story The Wild Party follows party girl Queenie (two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster) over the course of one decadent, booze-soaked night as she and her lover Burrs (Steven Pasquale) throw the party to end all parties-with a guest list of vaudevillians, hookers, and a handsome stranger (Brandon Victor Dixon) who offers Queenie the hope of a less tawdry life.

Led by Tony winner Sutton Foster, Encores! Off-Center's upcoming production of Andrew Lippa's THE WILD PARTY also features Steven Pasquale (who made his New York stage debut and understudied the role of Burrs in the MTC production of THE WILD PARTY), Brandon Victor Dixon, Foster's YOUNGER co-star Miriam Shor, Joaquina Kalukango and Talene Monahon, along with Renee Albulario, Ryan Andes, Penelope Armstead-Williams,James Brown III, Rachel DeBenedet, Raymond J. Everyone's favorite upside-down fairytale comes to Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) when they present SHREK The Musical, a song-and dance-filled stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film. The world of fairytales will be turned upside down in an all singing, all dancing, and irresistible mix of adventure, laughter and romance beginning July 7, playing thru Sunday, July 19. A month after FUN HOME's Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron made history at the 2015 Tony Awards, the Broadway production has taken a look back at the big night in a new celebratory montage, titled 'See It To Be It.' Check it out below!

Three of Broadway's most popular musical creators, Steven Lutvak, Jeanine Tesori, and David Yazbek, recently gathered to perform their own work in an intimate evening of music as part of the Library of Congress' Songs of America project. Today in 2004, Thoroughly Modern Millie closed at the Marquis Theatre, where it ran for 903 performances. Thoroughly Modern Millie is a musical with music by Jeanine Tesori, lyrics by Dick Scanlan, and a book by Richard Morris and Scanlan. Based on the 1967 film of the same name, it tells the story of a small-town girl, Millie Dillmount, who comes to New York City to marry for money instead of love - a thoroughly modern aim in 1922, when women were just entering the workforce. The production subsequently won six 2002 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for Sutton Foster.

Taran Killam stopped by last night's LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS and talked about his short-lived career in musical theater, including starring roles in Music Man, Evita, and The Wizard of Oz.

On June 7, 2015, a whole new group of Broadway community members were honored with 2015 Tony Awards for their excellence in theater this past season. From first time winners to veterans, the 2015 Tony Awards were filled to the brim with exciting wins. Some of the Tony Award winners stopped by to chat with BroadwayWorld about their big wins and who they forgot to say Thank You to during their acceptance speeches. 

Last night, the cast of FUN HOME took their curtain call for the first time since winning five Tony Awards, including BEST MUSICAL.
