Disney's Aladdin will welcome Arielle Jacobs as Jasmine on Broadway beginning Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Jacobs originated the role in the Australian production in 2016 and is the sister of original Broadway star Adam Jacobs, currently leading the North American tour in the title role. Her previous Broadway credits include Wicked and In the Heights.

In the new animated series, Sunny, voiced by Broadway's Lilla Crawford (ANNIE), is a confident and creative natural leader who runs her own hair salon in the town of Friendly Falls.

The cast of Disney's Aladdin, led by Adam Jacobs (Aladdin) and Tony Award-winner James Monroe Iglehart (Genie), performed a never-before-seen version of the show-stopping production number 'Friend Like Me' live from the stage of the New Amsterdam Theatre

A spin-off of the popular Broadway Princess Party concert series, created by Benjamin Rauhala and Laura Osnes, the first Broadway Prince Party bowed at Feinstein's/54 Below on October 17th. Just this morning, the Drama League announced the 2016 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Adam Jacobs, currently starring as Aladdin in Disney's Aladdin on Broadway, just released his debut solo album entitled 'Right Where I Belong,' a compilation of songs by Tony Award® and eight-time Oscar® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Aladdin). Featured on the album are well known tunes such as 'Proud of Your Boy' (Aladdin), 'Go The Distance' (Hercules), 'Santa Fe' (Newsies), and 'Suddenly Seymour' (Little Shop of Horrors, in duet with Jacobs' sister Arielle Jacobs), as well as other melodies from Menken's earlier works. He just celebrated the release of the album with some of his Broadway friends, and BroadwayWorld was there for the special night. Watch as Adam and friends talk all things Menken below!

BroadwayWorld is excited to bring you an exclusive track from the album- 'Sailing On.' The song was the first that Menken wrote with Dean Pitchford in 1982 for an album that didn't end up happening. Now the song is out of the vaults and you can check out Jacobs' rendition below!
