Williams' new play, Democracy(sic). play runs from September 15 - October 14, 2017 for 12 performances. cast features HCLAB alums Dan Evans, Victoria Martinez, James Warfield, and first-time company members Alex Best, Carlis Shane Clark, Steven Humphreys, Stacey Jordan, and Josh Owen. Greenhouse Theater Center Announces MC-10 PLAYWRIGHTS ENSEMBLE

Greenhouse Theater Center (GTC) and Artistic Director Jacob Harvey are pleased to announce the formation of the new MC-10 Playwrights Ensemble, a collection of ten of the country's most sought-after established and mid-career Chicago playwrights and theatre-makers. The ensemble will be in residence at the Greenhouse Theater Center and will create new works for its stages. Beginning with the 2018-19 season, the Greenhouse will present one play per season by MC-10 member playwrights, eventually expanding to two MC-10 productions per season. These world and regional premieres aim to expand the scope, diversity and visibility of work happening at the Greenhouse and underscore the institution's commitment to creating new vital works for the American theatrical canon.
Stella Ader Studio Seeks Submissions for 10th Annual Resident Playwright

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, is now accepting new play submissions. In the tenth annual search for a resident playwright, the division is calling for new dramatic works written exclusively by playwrights who identify as any of the following: Mexican, Muslim, African-American, immigrant, refugee, disabled, female or LGBTQ. The division is also seeking ensemble plays for casts of seven to ten female roles or gender neutral roles; all playwrights are welcome to apply with an ensemble play.

Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons will hold its annual Spring Gala on Monday evening, May 8, at the event space 583 Park Avenue. Titled A CELEBRATION OF SONG, the evening will honor three of the company's exceptional alumni writers: Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens and Far From Heaven at Playwrights), Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens and Far From Heaven at Playwrights) and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife and Grey Gardens at Playwrights). The Grey Gardens writing team has returned to Broadway with their new musical, War Paint, now playing at The Nederlander Theatre.
