The series debut of 'Salem,' WGN America's first original scripted series burst out of the gate, bewitching audiences on television's highly competitive Sunday night, skyrocketing to an impressive 2.3 million Total Viewers and 886,000 Adults 18-49, during four combined airings on the network. The premiere telecast at 10 p.m. ET, delivered a superb 1.5 million Total Viewers and 647,000 Adults 18-49, a +635% increase over the network's Adults 18-49 season-to-date average on Sundays at 10 p.m. Additionally, it ranked as WGN America's best telecast performance in more than seven years, since 2007.

On an expansive set reflecting volatile 17th century Massachusetts, 'Salem' explores what really fueled the town's infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth behind them. Created, executive-produced and written by award-winning writer/producer Brannon Braga ('24,' 'Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager and Enterprise') and Adam Simon ('The Haunting in Connecticut'), 'Salem' launches WGN America's strategy to become a dedicated purveyor of innovative scripted fare.
