Director's Edition of STAR TREK Film Will Be Released on Blu-Ray

The film will also be released in a Limited-Edition Collector’s Set entitled “The Complete Adventure,” which includes the new Director’s Edition, the theatrical cut, and a special longer cut all on 4K Ultra HD along with special features on Blu-ray.  In addition, Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture Collection will also be released.

The Philip K. Dick European Science Fiction Film Festival has unveiled the full lineup for its sixth annual event celebrating the life and career of novelist Philip K. Dick. With an emphasis on technological advancements and existence of alternative worlds and cultures, the festival will gather in Lille, France from October 25-26, 2019 and in Cologne, Germany from October 31-November 1, 2019.

 The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival, the annual festival that honors legendary novelist Philip K. Dick through the dynamic power of science fiction film, is returning for its seventh outing with a full schedule of events. Festivities begin on Thursday, March 14th in Los Angeles with the city serving as a prime destination to bring the festival. 'Blade Runner is set in L.A. in 2019,' said founder and director Daniel Abella when referring to the 1982 adaptation of Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? 'There is no better honor than by holding the festival in the very city and year depicted in one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time.' Screening titles include Matthew Evan Balz's Corvus, which follows a woman's perilous efforts to build a machine capable of hypnosis and the depiction of extant technology in Emily Dean's Andromeda about an android's awakening of human emotions. Closing the night is Josh Gibson's atmospheric Pig Film about a woman's work on a hog farm during the impending end of the world.

For the first time since its inception, the festival will hold a bi-coastal gathering presenting a lineup of films, premieres and panels for audiences in New York City, Los Angeles and Santa Ana, CA. The ambitious endeavor will provide a platform for independent filmmakers who tackle a variety of themes that empower the narratives of Philip K. Dick, whose work continues to serve as a profound mark on the literary and entertainment worlds.

The Television Academy tonight presented the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday night honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Saturday ceremony, which kicked-off the 70th Emmys, awarded many talented artists and craftspeople in the categories of animation, scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Sunday ceremony honored performers, artists and craftspeople for excellence in variety, nonfiction or reality programming, reality competition programming, music, choreography, as well as documentary or nonfiction specials, informational series or specials.

Battlestar Galactica's Richard Hatch's Final Film DIMINUENDO Makes NYC Premiere at SoHo International Film Festival

The New York premiere of Richard Hatch's final feature-length film DIMINUENDO. In it, he plays Haskell Edwards, a once-prominent film director who now struggles with addiction and unemployment after the suicide of his lover and prominent muse, Cello Shea (Dykstra). When Edwards is approached by a tech company to direct a film about Shea's career using their robot replicant to play Cello, Edwards is given the opportunity to reignite his career and livelihood. However, the project forces him to confront a traumatic past with a lookalike “LifeDoll” that does not think, reason, or understand.  In this harrowing drama with sci-fi elements, Hatch triumphantly plays a man trying to turn his life around when there is nothing left but regrets.
