Koning Willem Alexander opent op vrijdag 1 maart het nieuwe Theater aan de Parade. Met een speciaal openingsprogramma wordt het startsein gegeven voor een feestelijk openingsweekend voor de hele stad. Het openingsweekend bestaat uit onder andere het officiële openingsprogramma, een theatraal en muzikaal Open Huis en de Opening Night van blaasmuziekfestival Horn of Plenty. De Koning is aanwezig bij het openingsprogramma en onthult een speciaal openingsteken bij de hoofdingang van het theater.
