The HBO film BESSIE is scheduled to debut SATURDAY, MAY 16 at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO. This marks a return to the network for Oscar® nominee Queen Latifah following her Golden Globe- and SAG Award-winning performance in HBO Films' “Life Support.”

BBC AMERICA's new eight part paranormal thriller, Intruders, delivers the channel its biggest Supernatural Saturday series premiere ever in Live+3-Day, earning 1.223 million Total Viewers and 623,000 in A25-54. Its +77% growth among A25-54 over its Live+SD ranks ahead of the series premieres of both Atlantis (+38%) and Orphan Black (+29%). The series premiered on Saturday, August 23, 10:00pm ET and is the channel's second highest series premiere ever in Live+3-Day.

Oscar® nominee Queen Latifah (“Chicago”) stars as legendary blues singer Bessie Smith in HBO Films' BESSIE, written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Dee Rees (“Pariah”). The cast also features Michael K. Williams, Khandi Alexander, Mike Epps, Tika Sumpter, Tory Kittles, Oliver Platt, Bryan Greenberg, Charles S. Dutton and Mo'Nique. BESSIE is executive produced by Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere, Lili Fini Zanuck, Shelby Stone and Randi Michel.

Deadline reports that Oliver Platt, Bryan Greenberg and Tory Kittles will now star alongside leading lady Queen Latifah in HBO's BESSIE, a biopic about legendary blues singer Bessie Smith.

Production is underway in Vancouver British Columbia for BBC AMERICA's new original series Intruders, starring celebrated British actor John Simm and Oscar(R) winner Mira Sorvino.
