Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT), concludes its 2011 Nutmeg Summer Series with My Fair Lady, running July 7 - 17 in the Harriett S. Jorgensen Theatre (lower Jorgensen Auditorium) on the UConn Storrs campus. CRT is delighted to have soap opera legend Eileen Fulton, who portrayed Lisa Miller Grimaldi on As the World Turns for almost 50 years, starring as Mrs. Higgins in My Fair Lady.

Writer Damon Runyon invented Broadway - and Broadway invented the American Musical! Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will open its 2011 Nutmeg Summer Series with the classic American musical, Guys and Dolls based on Runyon's comic tales of Broadway running June 2-12 in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre (Lower Jorgensen).
Playwright Lanford Wilson Dies at 73

Broadway playwright Lanford Wilson passed away this morning, March 24. He was 73 years old. Considered one of the founders of the Off-Off-Broadway theater movement, Wilson received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1980, was elected in 2001 to the Theater Hall of Fame, and in 2004 was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

The passionate modern classic, 'Burn This' by Pulitzer Prize-winner Lanford Wilson, has now begun rehearsals under the direction of Nicholas Martin. Previews for 'Burn This' at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum are March 23 - May 1, 2011, with opening set for April 3.
The cast includes, in alphabetical order, Brooks Ashmanskas, Ken Barnett, Zabryna Guevara and Adam Rothenberg.

Daniels On Board for Showtime's 'Happily Ever After'

According to Deadline.com, Jeff Daniels is collaborating with Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip's Timothy Busfield, for a new Showtime series entitled, Happily Ever After. Daniels has written the script for the series' pilot, and he will also star in the show as a factory worker turned musician. The potential pilot will be directed by Bushfield.
Zach Grenier to Reprise Role in 33 VARIATIONS at Ahmanson in 2011

Zach Grenier will reprise his Tony Award-nominated role in '33 Variations' at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre, joining two-time Academy Award-winner Jane Fonda who stars in the compelling new play written and directed by Moisés Kaufman. The West Coast premiere of '33 Variations' will be presented January 30 through March 6, 2011. Opening is set for February 9.
Both Grenier and Fonda will perform the roles they played in the 2009 Broadway run of '33 Variations.' The play was nominated for a total of five Tony Awards, including Best Actress for Fonda and Best Featured Actor for Grenier.

New York Magazine is reporting that Robin Wright has pulled out of Broadway's TALLEY'S FOLLY. Reportedly, her would-be co-star Richard Schiff reportedly told the mag yesterday at fashion week: 'Robin just had to drop out right now for personal reasons.' Undeterred, Schiff has been hard at work trying to recruit Sally Hawkins, currently starring in Mrs. Warren's Profession. He says of his efforts: 'I'm trying to convince her to do Talley's Folly. I think she'd be great in it.
