Azuka Theatre will close their 2022/2023 season with the World Premiere of Galilee written by Christine Evans and directed by Azuka's Co-Artistic Director Rebecca May Flowers.

Jagged Little Pill, is the latest “Jukebox Musical,” in a rather long line of “Jukebox Musicals,” to make it on Broadway and then tour in recent years. With music by Alanis Morissette, book by Diablo Cody, and additional music by Michael Farrell and Guy Sigsworth, the show traverses the iconic landscape of songs represented on Morissette’s 1995 album of the same name, and touches on topics of pain, healing, and empowerment.

The 2022/23 Lyric Stage season concludes with Rooted by Deborah Zoe Laufer and directed by Courtney O'Connor.

The premiere of Ari + Dee, the latest play, by nonbinary theatre artist Alex Moon, directed and produced by Maeve Aurora Chapman, will take place this weekend at the Vino Theatre in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Signature Theatre has announced the one-week extension of its world premiere of MacArthur Fellow Sarah Ruhl’s Letters from Max, a ritual, directed by Kate Whoriskey, based on the book by Sarah Ruhl and Max Ritvo.

The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and Neal Street Productions, in association with Hera Pictures, have announced casting for the world-premiere of Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet adapted by Lolita Chakrabarti and directed by RSC Acting Artistic Director Erica Whyman. 

The west coast premiere of playwright Anna Deavere Smith’s expanded solo show Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 opens March 15, 2023, at the Mark Taper Forum (with previews beginning March 8th). Gregg T. Daniel directs the cast of Hugo Armstrong, Lovensky Jean-Baptiste, Lisa Reneé Pitts, Jeanne Sakata and Sabina Zúñiga Varela performing the 30-40 characters of the play that Anna originally performed all on her own. By the end of December, there has traditionally been one meeting of the Tony Awards Administration Committee to determine Tony eligibility. This season there has yet to be a meeting, leaving open a big question: which plays will be revivals and which will be new.

Kiln Theatre has announced a two-week extension for Zadie Smith's critically acclaimed smash-hit The Wife of Willesden due to public demand – now running at Kiln Theatre until Saturday 11 February 2023. Directed by Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham, the production sees Clare Perkins reprising her role as Alvita.

State Theatre New Jersey presents The Nutcracker with American Repertory Ballet for five performances on Friday, December 16 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 17 at 2pm and 7pm; and Sunday, December 18 at 1pm and 5pm. These are the only American Repertory Ballet performances featuring a live orchestra and choir.
