This week, Broadway Dreams and The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization hosted the 70th Anniversary gala concert celebration of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize Award-winning musical triumph, South Pacific. 

Broadway Dreams and The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization announced today that two-time Grammy Award-winner Isabel Leonard, Broadway vet Eden Espinosa, and Tony Award nominee Erin Dilly will join the cast of the previously announced 70th Anniversary gala concert celebration of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize Award-winning musical triumph, South Pacific. The evening will take place on Monday, December 10, 2018 at The St. Regis New York (2 E 55th Street) and will serve as a fundraiser for Broadway Dreams, a not-for-profit performing arts training organization with global reach. On Thursday, December 13th, Frank 'Fraver' Verlizzo will discuss his 5 decades as Broadway's award-winning theatrical poster designer with Broadway World's Richard Ridge in the Bruno Walter auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Verlizzo, known as 'FRAVER,' is the author of the best-selling FRAVER BY DESIGN: Five Decades of Theatre Post Art from Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Beyond which was published in May by Schiffer Publishing. The book includes over 250 of his theatre poster designs from Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional and international productions. The Lincoln Center Library event begins at 6 pm and admission is free.

The 2018 Inaugural NAAP (National Asian Artists Project) Gala took place on December 2nd celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Rodgers & Hammerstein's groundbreaking musical 'Flower Drum Song'. Charles Busch has forged a unique place in the world of entertainment as playwright, actor, director, novelist, cabaret performer, and drag icon. On Tuesday, December 11, the multi-talented artist comes to Palm Beach Dramaworks to kick off the popular series Dramalogue - Talking Theatre! In addition to discussing his illustrious career with Sheryl Flatow, Busch will also perform several songs, accompanied on the piano by Tom Judson. The program will be presented twice, at 2pm and 7pm, at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.

According to NewsOK, actors from the new national touring production of The Sound of Music will make a special stop in Oklahoma City Thursday morning to perform songs from the musical Oklahoma! at the Oklahoma History Center. The performance will take place in the history center's Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation Gallery, where the exhibit "Rodgers & Hammerstein's 'Oklahoma!': The Birth of Modern Musical Theatre and a New Image for the State" is currently being presented.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the independent, not-for-profit affiliate of SDC, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, today announced unique plans for its 2019 award evening, which will feature original choreographic pieces resulting from a special commissioning program, with the application period now open. SDCF also announced that Victoria Traube would receive a special 'Mr. Abbott' Award at the event, to be held March 25 at the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF).
