Hangar Theatre continues its 39th Mainstage season with the regional premiere of 4000 Miles, a critically acclaimed comic drama by celebrated new playwright Amy Herzog. The winner of the 2012 Obie Award for Best New American Play, the 2012 Lucile Lortel Award, and the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award, 4000 Miles was also named TIME magazine's #1 Play of 2012 and was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Starring Susan Blommaert (Broadway's Grease, Showtime's The Big C) as Vera and Robbie Tann(Troublemaker at Berkely Rep, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer at Actors Theatre of Louisville and The New Victory Theatre in New York) as Leo with emerging artists Paton Ashbrook and Jeena Yi to round out the cast. The 39th season of the Hangar Theatre includes a thrilling line-up of plays and musicals including a favorite farce, a Tony-winning musical, and two regional premieres and features an array of exciting Broadway talent. The season takes off with Neil Simon's Last of the Red Hot Lovers (June 13-29) followed by the premiere of a strikingly innovative concept of the Tony-winning best musical Gypsy (July 4-20). The regional premiere of Amy Herzog's critically acclaimed play 4000 Miles (July 25-August 3) is next, followed by the regional premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris (August 8-17).

American Conservatory Theater Announces Two 'Bike to the Theater' Nights

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), in partnership with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC), is providing a greener alternative to theater transportation. For two performances of the West Coast premiere of 4000 Miles-Thursday, January 17, and Thursday, January 24-A.C.T. will host Bike to the Theater Night, during which the SFBC will offer free valet bike parking for all patrons who cycle to the theater. Patrons who bike to the theater will receive a special discount on tickets that evening ($35 Orchestra, $25 Mezzanine, or $10 Balcony using code BIKE10 (online or by phone). Valet bike parking is available one hour prior to showtime. Bicycles will be attended throughout the evening. Patrons are asked to bring their own locks. ACT Completes 4000 MILES Cast

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today the casting for the West Coast premiere of Amy Herzog's acclaimed comic drama 4000 Miles. Directed by A.C.T. Associate Director Mark Rucker, 4000 Miles tells the story of 21-year-old Leo, who unexpectedly arrives on the doorstep of his feisty 91-year-old grandmother Vera's New York apartment, dazed after a cross-country bike trip.
