New York Stage and Film held their 2022 Winter Party on Monday, December 5 at the Empire Rooftop, 44 West 63rd Street. The festive December event will begin at 6:00 PM with libations and food, followed at 7:00 PM by performances from three new musicals workshopped at NYSAF, directed by Ibi Owolabi with music direction by Nick Wilders. New Georges will kick off its 30th Anniversary season with a one-night-only special presentation of bb brecht’s Holiday Yuletide Spectacular, created by Miranda Haymon. On Wednesday December 14, 2022, audiences are invited to spend their holiday party season with bb brecht and his friends at Dixon Place.

Keen Company's World Premiere of the new comedy This Space Between Us by Peter Gil-Sheridan (The Rafa Play), directed by Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein, will begin its final two weeks. Performances will continue through April 2nd only at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and Dyer Avenues.

 Fault Line Theatre will continue the 2022 Season of Irons in the  Fire, the organization’s reading series of new plays in development, with God Save the Queer by Zackary Grady, directed by Portia Krieger and featuring Michael Urie (George), Mallory Portnoy (Charlotte), Keshav Moodliar (Tariq), Seth Clayton (Louis), and Mary McCann (Kate).

Playwrights Kate Cortesi, Brenda Withers, Emily Zemba, and producer victor cervantes jr. are pleased to announce details for the 2021 edition of The Pool, a temporary consortium of playwrights producing their own plays in rep at the New Ohio Theatre from November 1–20, 2021.

The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues will return on Tuesday, September 14th, with an all new series of unforgettable performances. Sixteen actors have been paired with writers who have crafted unique pieces especially for them. From 6 PM until 10 PM, new monologues will be published every 15 minutes.  

New Georges announced today three upcoming theater projects for the Fall 2021 season—Future Wife: Party in a Spreadsheet created by ruth tang and Sarah Blush and performed entirely in Google Sheets; and two in-person shows as part of New Georges’ Supported Productions program.

Theatre Communications Group has announced the recipients of the first round of the 2021 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards. The awards, totaling $1,072,000, allow 28 productions extra time for the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, hoping to extend the life of the world premiere play after its first run.

Tony Award-winning theatre producer Daryl Roth and playwright Theresa Rebeck (both Co-Chairs of the LPTW Advisory Council) will introduce the 2021 Theatre Women Awards Virtual Gala and speak about their hopes for the future of the industry, as live theatre returns. The event will be presented virtually by the League of Professional Theatre Women on Monday, June 7 at 7pm.

NAATCO will present a virtual reading of Our Town by Thornton Wilder with an all-Asian American cast for one night only, Wednesday May 19th, at 8pm, in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The proceeds of this reading will benefit the company.
