They say that spring showers bring May flowers. At The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, spring showers have brought the musical Singin' in the Rain to the stage. Based on the classic MGM film, Singin' in the Rain is part of the theatre's 20th Anniversary Season. Last seen in Frederick nearly twenty years ago, Singin' in the Rain continues its run at Way Off Broadway through May 31st.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 20th Anniversary Season continues this spring with a new staging of the singing and dancing musical based on the classic MGM film, Singin' in the Rain. Nearly twenty years after the show was last seen on a Frederick stage, Way Off Broadway's production will open tonight, March 28th and run through May 31st.

For their 2014-2015 season of shows, they will be presenting the first production of the Broadway musical, BIG FISH, since its New York debut with the original Broadway sets and costumes! Continuing with its 'Big' Broadway' season are three more smash-hit shows from the Great White Way - LES MISERABLES, SOUTH PACIFIC and SINGIN' IN THE RAIN! In its 62 years of producing extraordinary musical entertainment, there has never been a season this 'Enchanted' or this 'Big!'

The Museum of the Moving Image's popular series See It Big! will turn its focus to the movie musical with a fourteen-film celebration of the genre, from today, January 24 through February 28, 2014. Musicals are, by their very nature, filled with spectacle. They are heightened forms of storytelling, in which the narrative is amplified by song and dance, where characters express their innermost feelings in the most extravagant ways imaginable.
