CBS Renews NCIS for Ninth Season

NCIS, television's #1 drama/scripted series for the second consecutive year, has been renewed by the CBS Television Network for the 2011-2012 season, it was announced today by Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment.

Last week, Artistic Director Sean Murray and Executive Director Bill Schmidt announced Cygnet Theatre's 2011/2012 Season, with a teaser of an edgy, modern play still under negotiations for the January, February slot. Cygnet Theatre can now officially announce the Southern West Coast Premiere of Martin McDonagh's A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE running January 19th through February 19th of 2012. Cygnet Theatre is located at 4040 Twiggs Street in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

Ah, the age-old story of forbidden love. What youngster could possibly resist the lure of a romance with the child of a feuding family? At least, that's what the fathers are counting on, in The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater's production of The Fantasticks - starting January 7th. Yes, it's a musical case of reverse psychology - wherein two fathers pretend to be enemies in an attempt to push their children together.

Artistic Director Sean Murray is pleased to announce a concert staged reading of the hilarious and rarely performed musical, ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, with book and lyrics by Betty Comdon and Adolph Green and music by Cy Coleman. The delightfully comedic romp will be performed free to attendees of Cygnet Theatre's Mini-Benefit, with proceeds supporting the Storytelling on the Green Program. The Mini-Benefit and Concert Reading will be presented TWO NIGHTS ONLY on Mondays, November 1st and 8th at Cygnet Theatre in Old Town. The Mini-Benefit begins at 6:30pm and the Concert Reading begins at 7:30pm.

Rehearsals are well underway for not one, but three full-length plays opening in previews at Cygnet Theatre this month. Making the rehearsal process even more impressive...all three shows feature the same distinguished cast. Artistic Director Sean Murray and Associate Artistic Director Francis Gercke are pleased to announce the cast of Alan Ayckbourn's trilogy - THE NORMAN CONQUESTS - which includes Danny Campbell, Sandy Campbell, Ron Choularton, Albert Dayan, Joanne Glover and Frances Anita Rivera. The three full-length plays (Table Manners, Round and Round the Garden and Living Together) run in rotating repertory July 28th through November 7th, 2010. Press Openings are Saturday, August 7th at 12pm, 4pm and 8pm.
