Tod Murray Debuts New Show 'Croon' at Blame It On Midnight, 7/8

Los Angeles based singer Todd Murray debuts his new show, 'Croon' at Blame It On Midnight in Palm Springs on Thursday, July 8th prior to it's opening at Hollywood's famed Catalina on July 9th and 10th, then New York City's Feinstein's At The Regency on July 13th. A former Broadway star, Mr. Murray's last appearance in Palm Springs was at Annenberg Theatre in 2008. Since then he has been touring the country in his acclaimed show 'Stardust And Swing' which is also the title of his most recent CD. His previous CD entitled 'When I Sing Low' also won high recognition from both critics and his many fans.
Queens Students Work to Raise Profile of Jazz, 6/9

On Wednesday, June 9th the students at the Holliswood School in Jamaica Estates, Queens will be honoring a jazz legend. Under the direction of Ms. Christine Passarella students have been learning about different genres of music, but have been most impressed with the work of jazz saxophonist John Coltrane and a group was founded in his honor called the Kids for Coltrane. During Wednesday's event there will be many activities that the children are organizing to raise the profile of the legend. The public is welcome on June 9th at 6:00pm in the Holliswood School auditorium, located at 189-10 Radnor Road, Jamaica Estates, Queens.

Last night, May 4, the Board of Directors of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs presented the 2010 MAC Awards at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in Times Square. The awards ceremony and show, produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, was hosted by Sharon McNight. Tracy Stark musical directed. BroadwayWorld celebrated backstage with the evening's winners and participants.

MAC will be announcing the winners and handing out awards in 24 categories to honor the best in live performance, recordings, songs and shows in cabaret, jazz, and standup comedy from the past year.

Daryl Glenn makes his Feinstein's debut singing the songs of his favorite songwriter and friend, Stephen Sondheim. Mr. Glenn will share the tunes that he feels closest to and annecdotes of his, mostly, postal relationship with 'Steve'. The show will highlite several lesser-know Sondheim compositions and will celebrate this treasure of the American Musical Theatre during the 80th anniversary of his birth. Daryl Glenn will perform at Feinstein's on January 17 at 8:30PM.
